
MUMBAI: Tata Power Company has bagged a contract to develop a 100 megawatts (mw) solar power project in Dholera Solar Park in Gujarat, the Tata group utility said on Wednesday.
With this project, the company now has a portfolio of 620 mw of solar power projects under development in Gujarat, of which, 400 mw will be in the Dholera Solar Park.
“It is an important milestone in the Company’s endeavour to generate 35 - 40% of Tata Power’s total generation capacity from clean energy sources and will go a long way to meet the country’s commitment towards green and clean energy,” the company said in a statement.
Tata Power will supply the electricity from the unit to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam, as a part of a 25-year power purchase agreement. The project has to be commissioned within 15 months from the date of execution of the PPA.
Tata Power’s renewable capacity will increase to 3,936 mw, out of which 2,637 mw is already operational and 1,299 mw is under implementation.
