Festival rush: Chennai-Madurai, Kanyakumari – Howrah special trains announced

MADURAI: The railways will operate the following reserved special trains connecting the southern districts of Tamil Nadu to clear the extra rush during the ensuing festival season.
No 06019 will leave Dr MGR Chennai Central at 10.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and reach Madurai at 7.20am the next day. The first service will begin on October 19.
No 06020 Madurai – Dr MGR Chennai Central AC Tri-Weekly Superfast Special train will leave at 10.45 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and reach Chennai Central at 7.50 am the next day. The first service from Madurai will be on October 20 and will have stoppage at Perambur.
Reservations for all the above special trains will open at 8am on Thursday, October 15. The trains will have one first class AC coach, two 2-tier AC coaches, four 3-tier AC coaches, eight sleeper class coaches and two luggage cum brake vans
No 02666 KanyakumariHowrah weekly special train will leave Kanyakumari at 8am on Saturdays and reach Howrah at 3.10am on Mondays. The first service from Kanyakumari will be on October 24 and the last service will be on November 28.
No 02665 Howrah – Kanyakumari weekly special train will leave at 4.10pm on Mondays and reach Kanyakumari at 10.50am on Wednesdays. The first service of the train will be on October 26 and the last service on November 30.
No 02666 will stop at Srirangam and Ariyalur. Reservations for all the above will open at 8 am on Friday, October 16. The trains will have one 2-tier AC coach, four 3-tier AC coaches, ten sleeper class coaches, two general second class coaches and two luggage cum brake vans.
