Imphal, Oct 14 (UNI) Manipur today recorded six deaths due to Covid which is the single largest casualty so far.
In the past twenty-four hours, 281 persons (150M, 131F) from general population and 20 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID19 positive cases.
The positive cases were from JNIMS (127), RIMS (44), Kakching (15), Senapati (1), Hillside Hospital (4). Christian Hospital (2), Thoubal ($0), Noney (1), Chandel (14), Public Hospital (1), Churachandpur (12), Bishnupur (8), RD Wing (1), Raj Medicity (5), Babina Diagnostics (2), Remedy Hospital (1), Kangpokpi (5), Tamenglong (3), Mother’s Care (1), Ukhrul (3) and Imphal East (1).
The positive cases from general population were from Imphal West (49), Imphal East (94), Thoubal (57), Ukhrul (3), Kangpokpi (21), Bishnupur (9), Chandel (14), Tamnegiong (4), Kakching (15), Churachandpur (12), Noney (2) and Senapati (1). Seven persons from IW were returnees while the rest were without any significant travel history. They were shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing were in place.
In the last 24 hours, six persons aged 73 yrs (male, IW), 49 yrs (male, IE), 73 yrs (male, Thoubal), 40 yrs (female, Kangpokpi), 50 yrs (male, IE) and 88 yrs (male, Tamenglong) expired at RIMS (3), JNIMS (1), Shija Hospital (1) and District Hospital, Tamenglong (1) respectively. The cumulative number of deaths is 103.
The total number of discharged persons was 86. They were from CAPF (4), Home Isolation (7), RD Wing (3), UNACCO (22), Lamboikhong (40), Noney (1), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (5) and PR Kakching (1).
The cumulative number of positive cases was 14,094 (General Population — 11.526 and Central Security Personnel — 2,568). The cumulative number of recovered cases was 10,915 (General Population — 8,718 and Central Security Personne] - 2,197). The number of active cases was 3,076 (General Population - 2,709 and Central Security Personnel - 367). The recovery rate was 77.44% said Dr. Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, Spokesperson, Health Department, Manipur.
