Centre extends TN Chief Secy's tenure for another 3 months

Chennai, Oct 14 (UNI) The Centre on Wednesday announced the
extension of services of Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary K Shanmugam
for a further period of three months till January 31 next year.
A communique received from the Centre said in reference to the
State government's letter dated August 13, 2020, on extension
in service of Mr Shanmugam, the Centre convey the approval of
the Central government for extending his services from November
one, 2020 to January 31, 2021.
The copies of the letter were marked to the Director PMO, PS to
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and the Resident Commissioner, Tamil
Nadu Bhawan New Delhi.
The 1985-batch IAS officer assumed charge as the Chief Secretary
on June 30, 2019 and was to retire in July this year earlier.
However, on a request from the Tamil Nadu government, the Centre
extended his services by three months till October 31, which was
now further extended till January 31, 2021.
