SPO, SSB constable go missing alongwith weapons from Budgam

Srinagar, Oct 14 (UNI) A Special Police Officer (SPO) of J&K police and a constable of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) have reportedly gone missing along with weapons from their units in central Kashmir district of Budgam.

Official sources said that an SPO, identified as Altaf Hassan, who was posted at SOG camp in Chadoora in Budgam, went missing along with two AK-47 rifles and three magazines.

They said a manhunt has been launched to trace the missing policeman. “Police has registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident,” they said.

In another incident, they said a SSB constable left his unit without informing anyone alongwith a rifle in Budgam. “The missing constable, a resident of Rajouri in Jammu, was posted at a camp in Nagum with 14th Battalion of the SSB,” they said.
They said a missing complaint has been lodged and a manhunt has been launched to trace the missing constable.
