Agra's air quality index (AQI-Air Quality Index) stood at 283 on Monday, while industrial cities like Delhi, Faridabad, Noida, Bhiwadi, and Karnal lagged behind Agra in pollution. According to the report released by the Central Pollution Control Board, the maximum dust particles in Agra have polluted the air.
35 percent road dust, 13 percent vehicles flying dust
Due to pollution in Tajnagri, the maximum dirt and dirt on the road is due to which Agra remains among the most polluted cities in the country. Professor Mukesh Sharma of IIT Kanpur has done a source study, in which he attributed 35 percent of the road dust to pollution, while 13 percent of the pollution is due to dust and fuel emissions from the tires of the vehicles. 10 percent of pollution is being caused by the burning of garbage.

A graded response action plan will be implemented from October 15
Due to rising levels of pollution, the state environment department has asked to implement the Graded Response Action Plan from October 15. It will be reviewed every week. If the air quality index continues to deteriorate for 48 consecutive hours, this action plan will be implemented, in which steps will be taken to curb incidents of traffic jams, construction, road dust, industry, and waste burning.
The State Government has asked the Municipal Corporation officials to wash the roads at night using treated water of sewage treatment plant to reduce the dust on the roads. Insist on mechanical cleanliness and cover the construction material which is kept on the side of the roads in the open. Completely ban building materials from the open. Assess dust load on roads where excavation is going on and vacuum cleaning should be done along with washing at night.

Department of dust control measures
Umesh Sharma, a member of the Taj Trapezium Zone (TTZ) Authority, said that pollution has already increased due to the excavation of roads. Departments should take their responsibility and take dust control measures otherwise they are fined, but people should also take initiative and use the bicycle once or two days a week.
