Hathras case: CBI records statements

Hathras, Oct 13 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigations on Tuesday took statements of Hathras victim's family, several villagers beside video recorded the house of the deceased and the field where the body was cremated, sources said.

According to the sources, a nine-member team recorded statements of around 40 villagers. The CBI also inspected the village and the crime spots.

As per the sources, during today's investigations, the mother of the victim suddenly collapsed and rushed to a nearby hospital.

However, she is now normal.Meanwhile, Mathura court has given permission to the Enforcement Directorate to interrogate Kerala journalist Siddique Kappan and three others who were arrested by the UP police from Hathras toll plaza.

As per the police, they are affiliated to Popular Front of India and wanted to disturb the atmosphere of the Hathras village.

A 19-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly gangraped and brutally assaulted by four upper caste men of a Hathras village last month.

Two weeks later, she died in a Delhi hospital and was cremated forcefully in the middle of night by UP policemen, in the absence of the victim's family members, leading to widespread outrage in Uttar Pradesh, neighbouring Delhi and some other states.
