Woman, daughter found murdered in UP's Kaushambi

PRAYAGRAJ: In a shocking incident, two members of a family including a woman and her minor daughter were found murdered at their rented accommodation at Sirathu area under the limits of Saini police station of Kaushambi district late on Tuesday evening.
Ironically, the rented house of the victims was located a few meters away from the local MLA’s residence.
The deceased identified as Sarita (28) and her daughter Tanu (7), were resident of Sirathu.
Additional SP ( Kaushambi) Samar Bahadur told TOI that the incident came to light when the husband of slain woman, Manish alias Mohit Sahu returned home from Prayagraj and found the bodies of his wife and daughter lying in a pool of blood.
He further added Manish, running DJ business, had recently constructed a new house and was planning to shift to new house from rented accommodation this Navratri.
Upon being alerted, senior police officials along with forensic experts rushed the spot and carried out investigations. Bodies have been sent for post mortem examination.
Police said that they have been taking assistance of CCTV sets installed in the area.
