Minor Dalit girl allegedly gang-raped in Chitrakoot, dies of suicide

Chitrakoot, Oct 13 (UNI) A minor Dalit girl has been gang-raped allegedly by three men in Kotwali area here and on Tuesday the victim died of suicide at her house, official sources said.
As per the victim's family members, the girl went to a field in her village Kaumraha Ka Purva to relieve herself on October 8 when the three men abducted her.
“My daughter was taken away on a motorcycle by three men on October 8, who did heinous acts on her. Few hours later, we found our daughter lying in a nursery with hands and legs tied. We tried to know the name of the culprits but she did not respond to anything as she was traumatised by the incident," the mother of the victim said.
The woman said they informed the police about the incident but her daughter did not even respond to police queries owing to the trauma.
However, the girl was found dead in her house on Tuesday.
“The girl hanged herself in her house. We are investigating the matter,"Assistant Superintendent of Police Chitrakoot Prakash Swarup Pandey said.The body of the victim has been sent for postmortem, he added.
