Coronavirus: 4,666 fresh cases, 57 deaths reported in TN

Chennai, Oct 13 (UNI) The cumulative tally of COVID-19 positive cases in Tamil Nadu increased to 6,65,930 on Tuesday, with the State reporting 4,666 more infections, while the death toll mounted to 10,371 with 57 more fatalities.

Health department in its bulletin said of the 57 deaths, 38 were reported in government hospitals and 19 in private hospitals.

The total number of active cases stood at 43,239.


A total of 85,509 samples were tested by RT-PCR in the last 24 hours taking the total number of samples tested till date to 84,88,503.

A total of 5,117 patients were discharged in the day, taking the count of recovered cases to 6,12,320.

Chennai recorded 1,164 fresh cases today, taking the city’s caseload to 1,84,429 while the death toll increased to 3,441 with 13 more fatalities.
