Badminton: Lakshya Sen enters 2nd round of Denmark Open

Odense, Oct 13 (UNI) Rising Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen on Tuesday progressed to the second round after beating France's Christo Popov in the opening round of Denmark Open, which restarted the international calender after a seven-month-long hiatus due to the COVID-19.

Lakshya produced a clinical performance to outclass Popov 21-9 21-15 in a match that lasted for 36 minutes.

The 19-year-old Indian, will next face the winner of the match between Belgium's Maxime Moreels and Denmark's Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus.

Denmark Open Super 750 event is the only event happening this year with BWF forced to cancel and postpone the multiple events.
