Mumbai power outage: Final year online exams in several city colleges postponed

MUMBAI: Final-year exams across city colleges were disrupted after the power outage on Monday morning. Many colleges had to reschedule today's paper to a later date, at some, students who got their question papers on the exam links continued to attempt it, with no communication from the college authorities. Due to the pandemic, final-year exams are being taken online in the MCQ format for the first time.
A notice issued by KC College said that the undergraduate and postgraduate exams have been rescheduled to October 18 due to a massive power breakdown, and that the extent and time of power outage cannot be assessed. Exams at Rizvi and St Andrew's Colleges were also rescheduled on October 15. Colleges did not wish to disrupt other ongoing exams and therefore have rescheduled the paper towards the end of all their other exams.
A student who was appearing for M Com exam said that he got the question paper on his email and he already started attempting it. He added that his college is yet to release any official notification redcheduling the exams and that many students are attempting it using mobile phone's wi-fi connection.
