Manipur records 230 new cases, two deaths in Manipur

Imphal, Oct 12 (UNI) : Two persons died while 230 cases new Covid cases were detected in Manipur.

In the past twenty-four hours, persons 223 (110M, 113F) from general population and 7 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID19 positive cases.

The positive cases were from RIMS — 22; JNIMS - 110; Jiribam — 1; Bishnupur — 2; Pherzawl - 3; Ukhrul - 1; Noney -3; Maipakpi hospital - 13, Imphal East - 24; Raj Medicity — 7; Jivan Hospital — 2; Babina Diagnostics — 2; Shija Hospital — 15; CMC - 1; Hillside Hospital — 1; Tamenglong - 5.

The positive cases from general population were from Imphal West — 36; Imphal East —132; Chandel — 1;Kakching — 1; Kangpokpi — 1; Bishnupur — 3; Thoubal — 7; Jiribam — 1; Bishnupur — 2; Churachandpur — 4; Tamenglong — 6; Ukhrul — 2; Noney – 3. Only three from Imphal East were returnees while the rest were locals without any significant travel history.

They were being shifted to the Covid Care facilitics. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing were in place.

In the last 24 hours, males aged 47 yrs (Imphal East) and 53 yrs (Imphal West) expired at JNIMS. The cumulative number of deaths is 93.

The total number of discharged persons was 203. They were from CAPF-12; Home Isolation — 11; RIMS-16, JNIMS-3, UNACCO-29, Lamding-8, Kangpokpi-2, Sadbhavna-8, Lanva-6, Noney-4, Lamboikhong-78, PR Kakching-4, Tamenglong-8, Senapati-2.

The cumulative number of positive cases was 13,556 (General Population — 11,013 and Central Security Personnel — 2,543). The cumulative number of recovered cases was 10,707 (General Population - 8,518 and Central Security Personnel - 2,189). The number of active cases was 2756 (General Population — 2,406 and Central Sccurity Personnel - 350). The recovery rate was 78.98% said Dr. Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, Spokesperson Health Department, Manipur.
