Police have arrested four gang members after exposing a gang betting in an IPL match. Two of them are real brothers and a day earlier arrested Ajay Jaiswal's nephew and Hariom Jaiswal's son. Uncle and Dad used to bet online from Dehradun.
While online speculators from all four outside states used to bet the people and collect money. All four used to do this work by taking a room in Delhi. Police recovered more than five lakh cash, 22 mobiles, a laptop, a calculator, and a speculative slip from his possession.
On Friday night, police arrested Ajay Jaiswal, Hariom Jaiswal, and Chirag Chadha while online betting in IPL matches in the Band Bazar Khudbuda area. More than 25 lakh in cash and other material related to betting were recovered from his possession. In the interrogation, Ajay Jaiswal had told that apart from Uttarakhand, he also bet online in other states. He had also spoken of brothers Hariom Sharma's sons Ankit Jaiswal and Ankush Jaiswal joining the gang.
SP City Shweta Choubey said that Ajay Jaiswal had told that the two along with their two friends are involved in betting and collecting money in other states. He has rented a room for them in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi. After which a team headed by SO Clementtown Narottam Bisht was sent to Delhi.
During a search in Delhi, the team came to know that all four have gone to Ambala City to collect money and are staying in a hotel there. On the information of the informer, the police raided the hotel and arrested four youths from different rooms there. The accused were identified as Ankit Jaiswal and Ankush Jaiswal son Hariom Jaiswal resident Khudbuda Mohalla, Gagan son Gurdial resident Bhandari Bagh and Himanshu son Pramod Kumar Dandipur.
