Bulgaria tourism is relying on the locals to help the forth coming winter holiday season, as they “saved” the summer, Tourism Minister, Mariana Nikolova explained this yesterday in a television interview. Over 900 000 Bulgarians had explored the Black Sea coast of the country this past summer, she mentioned.
Nikolova explained that in the context of this deadly pandemic, visitors were keen on getting smaller accommodation where distancing can rightly be maintained.
From the adjacent Balkan countries, majority of the international visitors to Bulgaria will be pouring in the coming winter months, who will travel by land, she said.
She also added in the interview that checks on the observance of anti-epidemic measures in regard to food and entertainment places were “uncompromising”.
According to Nikolova, regional health inspectorates were continually keeping a check on the resorts so as to make sure the safety of all guests is maintained.
The 60:40 payroll assistance measures were being extended till 2020 end and it was possible that it would be extended into 2021, she emphasized.
