The Digital Imaging Head at Sony India, Mukesh Srivastava, claims that "The Alpha 7S III opens up a new world of possibilities for new age content creators." As Sony a7S Mark II is a video-centric camera, users expected the same from the latest a7S Mark III. But the camera seems to target professional photo takers rather than filmmakers.

Sony a7S Mark III can record 4K videos at up to 120p with 10-bit color depth and 4:2:2 chroma subsampling. Whereas, Canon EOS R5 can shoot 8K raw videos at up to 30p and 4K videos at up to 120p. Speaking of the a7S Mark III specs and features, the camera packs a 12.1-megapixel 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor and BIONZ XR image processing engine. Sony's latest full-frame mirrorless camera offers an ISO range expandable from 40409600, features 9.44 million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder, an articulated LCD panel, 5-axis in-body image stabilization, 15+ stop Dynamic Range and dual CFexpress Type A card slots.

There is a fast hybrid autofocus system in the a7S Mark III with 759 point Phase detection AF sensors covering 92 per cent of the image sensor. The camera offers real-time eye AF and real-time tracking.

As for the availability, Sony a7S Mark III will be up for grabs from October 14 in India.
