Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Oct 12 (UNI) The BJP Women Wing on Monday held agitations in rural and urban parts of this district to protest against the "failure" of the Maha Vikas Aghadi(MVA) government in curbing the crimes against women across the state.
Led by the District party Women Wing President Amrutha Palodkar, the agitators gathered at the Kranthi Chowk and sloganeered against the Shiv Sena-led MVA.
Similar scenes were witnessed in front of the District Collectorate and city outskirts where the party's rural unit agitated under the guidance of BJP leaders Vijay Autade and Sarsabai Shivram Wagh.
The prominent individuals of the party, including MP Bhagwat Karad, MLA Atul Save, BJP National Secretary Vijaya Rahatkar and Sanjay Kenekar, among others also marked their presence.
Recently, Ms Rahatkar has condemned the statement of CM Uddhav Thackeray as the latter stated that Hathras-like incident won't be tolerated in his state.
Slamming the tripartite MVA, she questioned why the post of the State Women Commission chief is still vacant as eight months have passed since she resigned from the role.
"In the case of women's oppression, mere sweet talk and empty promises are of no use. The government and the police should take steps to crack down on criminals," she had said in a letter written to CM Thackeray.
