Former Jammu and Kashmir CM and National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah said on Sunday that the ongoing tension along the Line of Actual Control in East Ladakh is a result of the removal of Article 370.
China has been opposing it from the beginning and its aggressive stance on the border is due to this wrong move by the Modi government. Abdullah hoped that with the help of China, Articles 370 and 35A would be withdrawn.
Abdullah said at an event, "I never invited the Chinese President, the Prime Minister was Narendra Modi." He not only sent the invitation but also made him sit on the swing here. Took them to Chennai and had dinner with them. But what the government did on 5 August 2019 cannot be accepted under any circumstances. We do not, China is not doing either.
"We are not even allowed to speak in Parliament about the condition of the people of the valley," Abdullah said. What is the pleasure of the people here? Where the country is using 4G, 5G is going to come, yet the people there are forced to use 2G. What is this equal status? How will such youth move forward? Amidst all this, I hope that with the cooperation of China, Article 370 will be restored back in the valley, only then the people of this place are well.
Apart from this, Abdullah had said in the Lok Sabha that India should negotiate with Pakistan. Complicated issues should be discussed with Pakistan in the same way as China is trying to negotiate.
