Corona: The amount of treatment is more than three times of the 80 percent of family's monthly expenditure

Getting hospital treatment for someone infected with the coronavirus is not easy. The cost of treatment of Kovid-19 is very high, due to which people have anger towards the government. In the face of this anger, most states have set a limit on the cost of treatment for Corona.

By analyzing the official figures on monthly expenditure and the amount of treatment, it has been revealed that so far more than 80 percent of the families can face the tightness due to the treatment of corona of one member. Even after fixing a limit of treatment, the ten-day treatment bill is several times more than their monthly expenses.

According to the 2017-18 report on house spending released by the National Statistics Office, 80 percent of the country's population spends Rs 5,000 per person per month and a family of five members spends an average of Rs 25,000 per month. The minimum rent for a Delhi Isolated Bed for ten days is Rs 80,000.

These expenses are three times the monthly expenses of 80 percent of the people. On the other hand, if the condition of a corona patient is serious and they need a ventilator in the ICU, then the cost of treatment for two-three weeks goes into lakhs of rupees.

Comparing the expense of isolation bed, corrugated ICU without a ventilator, and ICU with a ventilator in 20 states shows that 80 percent of people spend this cost of treatment for corona even after setting a limit for treatment. Can not lift

In Delhi, it costs Rs 80,000 for an isolation bed, Rs 1.3-1.5 lakh for a ventilator ICU, and Rs 1.5-1.8 lakh for an ICU with the ventilator. While 80 percent of the people here spend Rs 25,000 per month. In Punjab, it costs Rs 80,000 to Rs 1 lakh for an isolation bed, Rs 1.3-1.5 lakh for a non-ventilator ICU, and Rs 1.5-1.8 lakh for an ICU with ventilator, and the monthly cost of people here is Rs 18,000.

However, these expenses are for private hospitals as it is free to treat corona in government hospitals in all states. In states like Karnataka, Odisha, and Telangana, the state government has also fixed a limit on corona spending in private hospitals.
