Mysuru, Oct 12 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver the 100th convocation address of the University of Mysore, on October 19.
However, the convocation will be addressed virtually by the Prime Minister, the university officials said.
As per the programme, Governor Vajubhai Vala, who is also Chancellor of the University, will preside over the convocation.
Minister for Education Ashwath Narayana, who is also the deputy Chief Minister, among others, will be present virtually, where degrees would be presented to PhD students and toppers in different disciplines.
Sources said that as per the UGC directions, all the universities have switched over to virtual (online) meetings and convocations due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation.
