BSF recovers 4 kg heroin from Punjab border

Jalandhar, Oct 12 (UNI) Border Security Force seized 4 packets of contraband suspected to be heroin from the area of responsibility of 71 Bn, BSF in Amritsar sector.



A spokesperson of the Punjab Frontier’s BSF Headquarter here said on Monday the alert BSF troops observed suspicious activities of some mischievous persons ahead of the Border security Fence and challenged them following which they ran towards the Pakistan Territory. During search four packets of contraband suspected to be heroin weighing one kg each were found from the area of responsibility of 71 Bn BSF in Amritsar sector. Value of the heroin in the international market is said to Rs. 20 crore.



During the current calendar year, the BSF had seized 430. 824 kg of heroin vauling over Rs. 2154 crore in the international market.
