Mapusa: Police booked five people for obstructing, abusing and threatening the Nachinola panchayat secretary.
According to Mapusa police the incident took place at Nachinola panchayat on October 9 and a complaint was filed on Sunday by the Nachinola panchayat secretary Bheldas Karapurkar against five people for obstructing him from performing his duty.
Police informed that the alleged accused Rohan Kalangutkar a resident of Nerul had sought information under RTI and was called to the panchayat, however Kalangutkar along with Sagar Ghadi, Savlo Parsekar both residents of Nachinola, Chetan Bandodkar resident of Bastora and Anish Naik over the issue of RTI application had allegedly abused the complainant with filthy words and further threatened him with dire consequences.
In this connection Mapusa police has registered an offence under Section 504, 506 (i) and 186 of the Indian Penal Code against all the five accused.
