PATNA: JD(U) president and Bihar CM
Nitish Kumar will launch his election campaign from Monday by addressing the electors of 11 assembly constituencies spread over six districts that will go to the polls in the first phase on October 28.
“The CM will address his maiden election campaign at 5pm on Monday,” the JD(U) national general secretary and state’s water resources minister Sanjay Kumar Jha told TOI on Sunday.
Jha further informed that the CM would be addressing people of altogether 35 assembly constituencies in total three shifts on Monday and Tuesday (October 12 and 13). These 35 constituencies are spread in total 15 districts.
“On October 13, the CM will address the electors of 11 constituencies from 11 am and those of other 13 constituencies from 4 pm. The CM’s election rallies on initial two days (Oct 12 and 13) will be through virtual mode. His speech will directly telecast and broadcast from the party’s dedicated online digital platform jdulive.com,” Jha, who finalized the CM’s programme, told TOI.
The WRD minister further said that from October 14, the CM would fly to different parts of the state to address election rallies while remaining physically present, while maintaining physical distancing as per the covid-19 norms.
Giving details of the CM’s virtual rally, Jha said the JD(U) president would address the electors of Sultanganj, Amarpur, Dhoraiya, Belhar, Tarapur, Jamalpur, Suryagarha, Sheikhpura, Barbigha, Nawada and Govindpur constituency from 5 pm on Monday.
Similarly, the CM would address the people of Masaurhi, Paliganj, Kurtha, Jehanabad, Ghosi, Sandesh, Agion, Jagdishpur, Dumraon, Rajpur and one more constituency from 11 am on October 13.
In the evening shift on the same day, the CM would address the electors of Chenari, Karahgar, Sasaram, Dinara, Nokha, Obra, Rafiganj, Nabinagar, Sherghsti, Belaganj, Atari, Jhajha and Chakai constituencies, Jha said.
To a question, Jha said the BJP was finalizing the election campaign programme of PM Narendra Modi. “We do not have the details about the PM’s likely programmes, but we are sure that the PM and the Bihar CM will be sharing the stage on a number of occasions during the campaigning.”
BJP state President Dr Sanjay Jaiswal said the PM Modi and the CM Nitish Kumar might share the stage in days to come during campaigning for Bihar election.
