Telangana CM instructs officials to be alert as heavy rains expected in next two days

Hyderabad, Oct 11 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday evening asked people in the state to be careful and alert as there is a likelihood of heavy to very heavy rains lashing the state in the next two days.

Heavy rainfall is reported from several places in the State on Sunday, an official release from CM office said here.

The Metrological Department also predicted heavy to very heavy rains on Monday and Tuesday also.

The Chief Minister instructed Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to keep the entire official machinery on the high alert.

Mr Rao wanted the Collectors and District Superintendents of Police and Police Commissioners to review the situation and take immediate action.

He also wanted all the officials to stay put in their places, watch the situation and extend the necessary relief measures.

The Chief Minister also asked the people to be on alert as the heavy rainfall may cause floods and flooding.
