Double Murder in Dhanbad: Local JMM leader, wife murdered

Dhanbad, Oct 11 (UNI) A local JMM leader was shot along with his wife in Gaurakunti under Sudamdih Police Station area of this district.
The deceased have been identified as Shankar Rawani, JMM's district unit vice-president, and his wife.
After shooting them down in their courtyard, the criminals slit their throat., sources said
Though the crime occurred on Saturday night, the incident was only reported on Sunday.
When the couple did not open their doors for long, a neighbour went inside their home and found them lying dead in a pool of blood, after which the police were informed
The reason behind the killings is yet not clear, however, police suspect it could be related to family rivalry.
In 2017, Shankar Rawani's son had allegedly murdered his paternal uncle but he, too, was killed on the same night.
Neighbours said that a group of four to five miscreants entered the house and shot Shankar Rawani (53) and his wife Balika Devi (50).
Later, they were dragged into the courtyard where their throats were slit.
Empty cartridges and a knife have been recovered from the spot, police said.
