Jharkhand Bypoll: Basant to file nominations on Monday, Jaimangal on Oct 14

Dumka/Bokaro, Oct 11 (UNI) Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) nominee from Dumka seat, Basant Soren, will file his nomination on Monday in the presence of his elder brother and Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

In the assembly elections of 2019, Hemant Soren had won from Dumka and Barhet seats but later resigned from Dumka, necessitating the bypoll.

Basant Soren, who is also the central president of Jharkhand Yuva Morcha, had fought the Rajya Sabha elections, but could not win.

Congress nominee from Bermo seat, Jaimangal Singh, who is the elder son of senior Congress leader, late Rajendra Singh, will file his nominations on October 14.

The Bermo seat fell vacant due to the demise of his father.

JPCC spokesperson Alok Kumar Dubey said that many senior leaders of the party, MLAs and cabinet ministers of the state government will be present with Jaimangal Singh during the filing of nomination papers.

The voting on both seats will be held on November 3 while counting of votes will be held on November 10.
