Telangana reports 1,717 new Covid-19 cases, 5 deaths

HYDERABAD: Telangana on Sunday recorded 1717 new cases of Covid-19 and 5 deaths. With this the total number of cases in the state so far are 2,12,063 and the total number of deaths are 1222. So far, a total of 1,85,128 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection, even as 25,713 active cases remain in the state.
On Sunday, 46,657 samples were tested for the virus, taking the total number of samples tested to 35.5 lakh so far. With this the samples tested per million population in the state is 95,299.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits recorded a total of 276 new cases- the highest among districts. This was followed by 132 cases in Ranga Reddy, 131 cases in Medchal Malkajgiri, 104 cases in Karimnagar, 101 cases in Nalgonda, 87 cases in Bhadadri Kothagudem and 85 cases in Siddipet. All other districts in the state recorded between 15 and 80 cases as well.
