Patna, Oct 11 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who in the past had rejected Prime Minister Narendra Modi's name for Bihar poll campaign, will be sharing the dais with the latter and also hold joint campaign in favour of the NDA candidates.
National General Secretary of Janata Dal (U) and Bihar Water Resources Minister Sanjay Kumar Jha said here today that the BJP is finalising the election campaign programme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, adding that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and PM Modi will hold joint campaign for the state assembly election.
Replying to a query, Mr Jha said Mr Modi will be holding a campaign in favour of JD(U) canddates, too, and indicated that this will also eliminate the confusion with respect to Lok Jan Shakti Party (LJP).
Speaking about the coordination between JD (U) and BJP, Mr Jha said that it is still strong and the activists of both the parties are working in tandem at the grass root levels.
The JD (U) leader said the Chief Minister will address people of 35 assembly constituencies on October 12 and 13 on digital platform.
On October 14, the CM will address public meetings, he informed.
It may be recalled that after the 2002 Gujarat riots, Mr Modi could not visit Bihar in 2005 and 2010 for electoral campaign in favour of NDA candidates due to the adamant as well as rigid attitude of Mr Kumar.
Back in 2010, a photograph published in newspaper advertisements, showing Mr Kumar and Mr Modi together, had irked Mr Kumar so much that he had cancelled his dinner party for the senior BJP leaders, who were in Patna for a national executive of the saffron party.
Now both the leaders are sharing cozy relationship and have shared the dais on several occasions, including the last Lok Sabha elections and praised each other .
In the last Lok Sabha election, Mr Kumar had campaigned in favour of Mr Modi while this time Mr Modi will be campaigning in favour of Mr Kumar.
