Verna police bust three-member gang involved in two-wheeler thefts

Vasco: The Verna police busted a three-member gang and have recovered four two-wheelers which they had stolen from various parts of Mormugao taluka and neighbouring areas.

As per available information from police, the accused persons namely Roy Shanke (32), a resident of Gogol Margao along with his two accomplices Francisco Vaz (30), a resident of Davorlim Salcete and Abhit Tawde (41), a resident of Aquem Margao had committed theft of four two-wheelers from various localities in Mormugao taluka and other areas.

The police team led by Verna PI Tulsidas Naik along with police head constables Babaji Matkar and Girish Naik besides police constables Nilesh Kaskar, Ajit Shirodkar, Satish Lakde and Majeeb Khan nabbed the accused persons and has recovered four two-wheelers involving two bullet motorcycles, a Bajaj Avenger and a Pulsar motorcycle from their possession.

Meanwhile, the accused Roy Shanke was arrested some days back and was released on bail in connection with a bullet motorcycle theft. The Verna police are further investigating the case under the supervision of superintendent of police South Pankaj Kumar Singh.
