Tanda police arrests 3 including woman & seized 135 gm heroin

Hoshiarpur, Oct 11 (UNI) Tanda police have arrested three people including a woman and seized 135 gram heroin, fake notes worth Rs. 30000 of Indian currency and a Swift car.
According to the police sources, the police was tipped off that Satnam Singh, alias Satti, son of Surjit Kumar of Paniar PS Dina Nagar (Gurdaspur), Balwinder Kumar, son of Bachan of village Mazra PS Damtal and Joti Rani, daughter of Tilak Raj of village Ganna PS Phillaur, were allegedly involved in the trade of selling heroin and supplying fake currency of Indian rupees in the area and were coming from Jalandhar side in a car.

Police intercepted the aforesaid car at Basti Amritsaria turn (Tanda). On seeing the police all the accused attempted to flee but were caught by the police late Saturday evening. On their search police seized 135 gram heroin, fake Indian currency notes worth Rs. 30000.
All the accused were booked under sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act and sections 489B and 489C of the IPC.

Four deaths & 34 new cases of corona found in Hoshiarpur dist

Hoshiarpur, Oct 11 (UNI) As many as four more deaths and 34 new confirmed cases of coronavirus were reported in the district Sunday, taking the death toll to 184 and district tally to 5069 of which 424 are active cases, said a spokesperson of the local Health Department in a statement here Sunday evening.
