Man's body found after overnight search

A man has been found dead at Double Island Point on the Sunshine Coast after land and air searches overnight.

Police were called about 10am on Sunday after searches near the water at Cooloola were conducted on Saturday, including a helicopter being called to scour the area about 10pm.

"We received a report of a man who had gone into the water on Saturday afternoon and was not seen since," a police spokeswoman said.

"The body has been located this morning."

A report is being prepared for the coroner, but police believe the death was not suspicious.
