NOIDA: A cab driver with an app-based cab aggregator was allegedly looted of his WagonR car by four men who boarded his car in Mamura area late on Wednesday.
The driver, Satish Meena, told police he reached the spot around 11pm after he received a booking. However, on reaching there, the accused told him to cancel the trip for which they would give him Rs 500 extra.
“As soon as they entered my car, they asked me to lock the car and then drive. Soon, one of them overpowered me at knife-point, pulled me to the back seat and started driving the car. They thrashed me too,” as he stated in his complaint. “They removed my shirt with which they tied my eyes and face. So, I don’t know which route they used. They snatched my mobile phone and dumped me around 500 meters ahead of the Mahamaya flyover before fleeing with my car towards Pari Chowk,” the complaint further read.
However, police are suspicious of the case saying that he is repeatedly changing his statements.
Additional DCP (Noida) Ranvijay Singh said, “We are trying to establish the sequence of events and checking the veracity of his claims. CCTV footage is being scanned.”
