Four terrorists have been gunned down by security forces in two separate encounters that broke out in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday morning.
Official sources told India Today TV that two terrorists were killed in the encounter in Kulgam district. The bodies of the two terrorists, however, are yet to be recovered as the encounter is still underway.
The encounter broke out after a joint team of police and Army's 01RR launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Kulgam's Chingam area on the basis of a specific input about the presence of terrorists in the area.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, terrorists hiding in the area opened fire upon security forces. The joint team initiated retaliatory fire, leading to an encounter that has now resulted in the deaths of two terrorists.

In a separate encounter in Dadoora area of Pulwama, two more terrorists were gunned down by security forces on Saturday. According to the Kashmir Zone Police, incriminating materials such as arms and ammunition, including two AK rifles were recovered from the hideout of the slain terrorists.
