Yesterday’s low pressure area over East central Bay of Bengal intensifies : Met

Hyderabad, Oct 10 (UNI) Yesterday’s low pressure area over East-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Andaman sea intensified into a well marked low pressure area at 0530 hours on Saturday over the same region and lies in East-central and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal at 0830 hours today, Meteorological Centre said.
In a special bulletin here, it said that the associated cyclonic circulation extends up to mid- tropospheric levels. It is very likely to concentrate into a Depression over the central Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours.
“ There is also a possibility that the system may further intensify into a deep depression during subsequent 24 hours. It is likely to move westnorthwestwards and cross north Andhra Pradesh Coast during October 12 forenoon/noon”.
The cyclonic circulation over Rayalaseema & adjoining south Coastal Andhra Pradesh now lies over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh & neighbourhood at 1.5 km above mean sea level.
A cyclonic circulation lies over North Interior Karnataka & neighbourhood and extends up to 3.1 km above the mean sea level.
A fresh low pressure area is likely to form over north Andaman Sea & neighbourhood around October 14, the bulletin added.
