NEW DELHI: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police has arrested three directors of Indirapuram Habitat Centre (IHC) for allegedly misappropriating funds and not repaying a loan of Rs 10 crore taken from a financial services company.
The accused have been identified as Pramod Goel, Krishan Chand Bansal and Anil Gupta, said OP Mishra, joint commissioner (EOW). They were sent to judicial custody in Tihar Jail.
A firm, Moneywise Financial Services, had lodged a complaint with police last year and an FIR was subsequently registered under sections of criminal conspiracy, cheating etc. The complainant alleged that Indirapuram Habitat Centre Pvt. Ltd had availed a term loan of Rs 10 crore from the complainant company for a period of 2 years in 2016 for the completion of its project 'IHC' at Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, UP.
"The accused firm had allegedly mortgaged 23 units in the said project as collateral security. The alleged company had also issued letter of possession in advance in the favour of the complainant company," joint CP Mishra said.
"The accused firm and its directors, police said, failed to repay the loan amount and even created third party interest in the said 23 units without any information and approval of the complainant company and thus defrauded the complainant company," Mishra added.
"The accused company also offered them assured return on their investment but no such return was paid. In a calculative manner, the accused company not only cheated the complainant company but also cheated the investors," the joint CP further said.
Three other cases were lodged against the accused last year, police said.
