Patna, Oct 10 (UNI) Mortal remains of Union Minister and LJP founder Ram Vilas Paswan was consigned to flames with full state honours here today.
The body of Mr Paswan was brought to Janardan Ghat on the banks of Ganga river in
Digha, in a procession from his residence in S K Puri locality of Patna.
A large number of his supporters, common people, leaders and workers were also part of the
procession who reached the bank of Ganga river from S K Puri, raising slogans all along the route.
His supporters also raised the slogan,"Dharti Gunje Aasman, Ram Vilas Paswan" which also used to be raised for him during party functions.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Union Ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad, Giriraj Singh, Nityanand Rai, Ashwini Kumar Chaubey, leader of the opposition Tejasvi Prasad Yadav and other leaders cutting across party lines paid homage to the departed leader.
Thousands of people from all parts of Bihar and also across the country bid tearful farewell to him.
Chirag Paswan, son of Ram Vilas Paswan, lit the funeral pyre, consigning his mortal remains to flame.
