Exercise caution during fests: Minister tells officers

Bhopal, Oct 9 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Medical Education Minister Vishvas Sarang emphasised on Friday that guidelines pertaining to COVID-19 prevention – especially use of masks and social distancing – should be followed mandatorily by the populace during coming festivals including Navratri.
“Along with the district administration, social and religious organisations as well as organising committees plus traders must participate in this task,” the senior politician was officially quoted as saying while chairing a District Crisis Management Committee meeting at Mantralaya.

Sub-Divisional magistrates and Town Inspector-level officers ought to contact office-bearers of Durgotsav committees to discuss plus share inputs regarding arrangements, the Minister underlined, adding that attention should be paid towards ensuring that pandals are open and the masses do not encounter any hurdle whatsoever in offering worship.

“Prohibition of garba and similar programmes remains unaltered. The Ravan dahan samitis must also be informed. Barricading ought to be carried out at all immersion ghats and divers arranged. Boats should not be allowed anywhere and immersion will be executed by the administration. All legislators and other public representatives must be duly briefed.

2 candidates submit papers in MP

Bhopal, Oct 9 (UNI) With the issuance of notification regarding Assembly by-polls in Madhya Pradesh, the process of submission of nomination papers commenced on Friday in 28 constituencies spread over 19 districts, it was officially learnt.
In the words of Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Pramod Kumar Shukla, “A candidate proffered documents in Morena (Morena District) and another in Badnawar (Dhar). The last date for doing so is October 16, scrutiny is scheduled the following day, October 19 is the deadline for withdrawal of candidature, voting is to be conducted on November 3 and counting a week after that.”
