Delhi University (DU) First Cut Off List 2020 HIGHLIGHTS: The University of Delhi (DU)‘s cut-offs under the first list has gone as high as it can get – 100 per cent. Lady Shri Ram College for Women is offering admission to BA (H) Economics, BA (H) Political Science, and BA (H) Psychology programmes to students who have got 100 per cent as their best of four subjects score. 100 per cent is the requirement of marks for each of the three courses under the first list and if seats are vacant then the required marks can be lowered in the second list.
For BCom (H) the college is accepting admission at and above 99.75 per cent marks. BA (H) Economics, Political science are among the top courses this year. At Hindu College, the cut-off marks for admission to BA (H) Economics is 99.25 per cent. Apart from the top colleges, the cut-off for evening colleges as well as lesser-known off-campus colleges has gone higher than last year.
Based on the cut-off students will now have to select courses and colleges they are eligible for at du.ac.in and fill options. A total of five cut-off lists are expected this year. The reason behind the high cut-offs is being estimated as the record-high number of applications coupled with more number of 95 per cent + scorers in board exams. A total of 3,54,003 students had applied for about 70,000 undergraduate seats at DU. The number is 1.5 lakh higher than last year.
Delhi University set a new admission cut-off record with its first list Saturday after the Lady Shri Ram College for Women decided on a 100 per cent cut-off for three courses, and 30 courses across colleges had cut-offs over 99 per cent.
Last year, the highest cut-off across all colleges was 99 per cent for admission to the BA (Honours) Political Science programme in Hindu College. This time, the highest cut-off has reached 100 per cent in LSR for admission to three courses — BA (Honours) Political Science, BA (Honours) Psychology and BA (Honours) Economics. Last year, the college had a 98 per cent cut-off for Economics, 98 per cent for Political Science and 98.75 per cent for Psychology.

After selecting colleges, each college will verify the documents uploaded by the applicant for eligibility and meeting the required cut-off. Applicants will be required to appear in person at the University of Delhi only at the very end of the admission process, for verification of certificates as per the schedule to be announced by the university/College. Once the principal of the college has approved their admission, the applicants will receive a link on their dashboard on the UG Admissions portal through which they must submit the college/course fees due. This fee can only be paid online through the portal. The applicant will have to pay the fee within the deadline and save the acknowledgment slip.
The default settings allow all applicants to register for all courses (without any penalties). The applicants will be eligible to take admission in all the colleges and courses provided they satisfy the cut-off of the colleges and the eligibility for the selected courses. Applicants must log in to their dashboards on the UG admission portal to choose the course and college they wish to claim admission in from the list of colleges and courses they are eligible for.
Commerce cut-offs have seen a jump even in Sri Aurobindo College (Evening), where the cut-off for BCom (Hons) and BCom has gone up from 93% and 9% respectively last year to 94% and 93% respectively. Cut-off for Economics (94%) and English (93%) have also seen a rise of one percentage point from last year. The only subject in which the cut-off has fallen from 93% last year to 92% this year is Applied Psychology.
