Active Covid cases below 9,000-mark, Jharkhand cure rate near 90%

RANCHI: Jharkhand reported six Covid casualties on Thuesday, taking the toll to 781. Of the deaths Ranchi recorded three and Bokaro, Dhanbad and East Singhbhum one each.
Meanwhile, with 768 fresh infections and 1,158 recoveries through the day, the number of active cases fell to 8,819. This is the first time the figure has gone below the 9,000-mark since August 17. The cumulative caseload in the state stood at 91,254 cases, of 81,654 (89.47%) have recovered.
Ranchi and East Singhbhum continue to report new cases in three digits with 314 and 103 cases respectively. The two districts contributed 54% cases reported on Friday.The positivity rate came down as just 2.51% of the 30,524 samples returned a positive result.
