Protesting parents claim management did not open the school door
While Anand Niketan claims parents have not paid any fee, parents claim school has violated govt diktat by deducting 25% from overall fee instead of tuition fee

When their children could not log into online classes, parents of 100 students enrolled in Anand Niketan Sughad campus initially blamed it on technical issues. However, when the problem persisted for a few days, they got in touch with the management. To their shock, the management allegedly cited unpaid fees as the reason for keeping their children out of online classes. Miffed by this attitude, as many as 50 parents reached the school campus on Friday morning to register their protest.

"To our horror, the school management did not open the door to let us in and make a representation," alleged parents. School authorities, meanwhile, claimed that the parents had not paid fees at all this year.

"As per government diktat, school has to cut 25% on tuition fee. They are not supposed to charge extra-curricular activity fee. However, the school management has played a game and deducted 25% from over-all fee," said Ravi Jain, a parent. His son is in Class 5 and his overall fee is Rs 75,000. With overall deduction, he has to pay over Rs 50,000.

Kamal Raval, office-bearer of a parent's association who accompanied the protesting parents, said that the school is pressuring parents to pay full fee. "We have proof that parents are being forced to pay full-fee," he said. Director (Anand Niketan Group of Schools) Nashy Chauhan said online classes were not conducted for other reasons. "Around 20 parents who rushed to school today. They have not paid any fee for 2020-21," she said. Chauhan also said that they got government's GR regarding fee deduction only recently and are working on it.

My office has cut my salary. Icannot afford to pay the full fee. We are ready to pay the fee but as per government’s diktat

Ravi Jain, parent
