Greater Noida: Two gang-rape minor girl, arrested

GREATER NOIDA: Two men were arrested on Friday for allegedly gangraping a 12-year-old girl in Rabupura’s village on Wednesday. The accused have been identified as Rakesh (21) and Arjun, who were seniors to the girl in the school.
According to a complaint filed by the minor’s parents, around 9pm the youths, who were known to the girl, abducted her on their motorcycle and took her to one of the youth’s farms where she was raped. They later dropped her back in her village after threatening to not tell anyone.
The girl, however, opened up to her family after reaching home. Her parents claimed that the accused and their families stopped them from approaching the police and forced them to reach a compromise. They somehow managed to file a complaint at Rabupura police station on Thursday.
The accused have been booked under IPC Section 376 D (gangrape) along with Section 342 (wrongful confinement) and 5/6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
“The girl was sent for a medical examination following which her statement was recorded in which she has asserted that one of them raped her while the other guarded the location,” said Vrinda Shukla, the DCP of Women cell, adding that the youths were arrested on Friday and produced in a district court that sent them to jail.
Meanwhile, another woman was allegedly gangraped on October 6 in a Dadri village. Eight persons have been booked.
The woman’s mother claimed that the accused also made a video and blackmailed her “Lefty and Bhoora took turns to rape her while Himanshu watched the door of the first-floor room. The other men were in the balcony of the two-storey house,” she said.
The victim's family also took to Twitter claiming police and local people pressured them to hide facts. However, the DCP denied allegations of any delay in police action.
