Punjab registers 890 fresh COVID-19 cases, 25 deaths

Chandigarh, Oct 10 (UNI) As many as 890 fresh cases of COVID-19 and 25 deaths were reported in Punjab on Saturday, taking the infection tally to 1,23,317 and the death toll to 3,798.
According to the Health bulletin, the fresh deaths included four in Jalandhar, three each in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Ludhiana and Patiala, two each in Hoshiarpur, Sangrur and Tarn Taran and one death each in Fatehgarh Sahib, Kapurthala and SBS Nagar districts today.
It further said 125 fresh cases were reported from SAS Nagar district, 109 from Gurdaspur, 77 from Jalandhar, 69 from Amritsar, 64 from Bathinda, 54 from Patiala, 48 from Pathankot, 43 from Ludhiana, 40 from Hoshiarpur, 32 from Kapurthala, 31 from Fazilka, 30 from Ferozepur, 28 from Ropar, 25 from Mansa, 22 from Muktsar, 20 from Faridkot, 16 from Sangrur, 15 from Moga, 13 from Fatehgarh Sahib, 11 from Barnala, ten from Tarn Taran and eight new cases from SBS Nagar district.
It was stated that of 3,798 fatalities in the state so far, 794 deaths have been registered in Ludhiana district, 433 in Jalandhar, 404 in Amritsar, 352 in Patiala, 196 in SAS Nagar, 181 in Hoshiarpur, 174 in Gurdaspur, 157 in Sangrur, 155 in Kapurthala, 129 in Bathinda, 109 in Ferozepur and 96 in Fatehgarh Sahib.
Pathankot registered 93 deaths, followed by 90 in Ropar, 77 in Tarn Taran, 76 in Moga, 57 in SBS Nagar, 52 in Muktsar, 51 in Faridkot, 47 in Barnala, 42 in Fazilka and 33 deaths in Mansa district.
According to the latest COVID figures, Ludhiana leads with 19,083 cases, followed by Jalandhar 13,989, Patiala 12,126, SAS Nagar 11,320, Amritsar 11,090, Gurdaspur 6,480, Bathinda 6,327, Hoshiarpur 5,042, Pathankot 4,035, Ferozepur 4,007, Kapurthala 3,750, Sangrur 3,726, Faridkot 2,950, Muktsar 2,699, Fazilka 2,674, Moga 2,392, Ropar 2,289, Fatehgarh Sahib 2,024, Barnala 1,922, Tarn Taran 1,849, SBS Nagar 1,776 and Mansa 1,767.
The bulletin further stated that there were 9,752 active patients in the state. Among them, 194 patients were on oxygen support and 45 on ventilators. It said 1,09,767 patients have been cured of the virus in the state so far.
Out of the total 21,17,713 samples taken in the state till now, 1,23,317 have tested positive, added the bulletin.
