BMC ropes in technology, maps containment zones real-time

MUMBAI: BMC, with the help of Google, mapped containment zones in slum pockets on Google maps so that one can get an idea if the locality one is visiting has active Covid cases. Officials said they would update their records real time.
If one keys in the name of area on Google Maps and zooms in, it will say if the area is marked as a 'containment zone'. BMC marks slum pockets with narrow access as containment zone after report of Covid cases and lifts the tag once patients recover. Officials said it will help a visitor get information in advance.
