In Bihar, scrutiny of nomination papers of candidates is underway for the first phase of assembly elections in 71 constituencies. A total of 1357 candidates have filed nominations in this phase.
In the Tekari constituency of Gaya district, 31 nominations have been submitted. This is the highest number of nominations in any assembly constituency in this phase.
For the first phase of elections, the last date for withdrawal of candidature is 12th of this month and polling will be held on 28th October.
Due to large number of aspirants this time many constituencies witnessed increase in number of nominations.
