LUDHIANA: Deputy commissioner Varinder Sharma on Friday informed that under the Mission Fateh of the Punjab government, the number of
Covid-19 patients getting cured in the Ludhiana district is increasing with each passing day. He said that there are 587 active patients in the district at present.
He said that a total of 120 patients (98 new patients from district Ludhiana and 22 from other states/districts) have tested positive during the last 24 hours.
He further said that till date, a total of 3,15,982 samples have been taken, out of which the report of 3,14,248 samples have been received, of which 2,92,757 samples were found negative while the report of 1,734 samples were pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 19,040, while 2,451 patients are related to other districts/states.
Eight patients died on Friday (two from Pathankot, while one each from district Ludhiana, Ropar, Muktsar Sahib, Ferozepur, Fatehgarh Sahib and UT Jammu & Kashmir State).
The total number of persons who lost their lives include 791 people from Ludhiana and 288 from other districts.
Till date, 45,089 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons is 2,335. Today, 118 persons were sent for home quarantine.
