In a rematch between last season's Premiership title challengers, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns look set to renew their rivalry in an electrifying season opener.
Following numerous reports on an apparent leaked fixture list, the opening fixture of the upcoming 2020/2021 season is set to be Chiefs against Sundowns at FNB Stadium on 24 October.
The fixture list confirms all eight fixtures including all 16 top-flight teams as well as a match-up between the two newly-formed clubs, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila and TS Galaxy.
TimesLive reported the PSL as saying that the leaked fixture list was merely a draft that could potentially see changes made before an official schedule is released.
"We've seen the fixtures being circulated in the social media space. As the PSL we can safely say those are not the final fixtures of the two opening rounds of the 2021/21 DStv Premiership."
Last season, Sundowns clinched their third consecutive league title and record-setting 10th in total in dramatic fashion on the final day.
They narrowly pipped Kaizer Chiefs to the title after the Soweto giants stumbled at the last hurdle.
