LUCKNOW: The city recorded 403 more Covid-19 cases on Thursday—the figure lowest in the past 76 days, but still highest in UP as it accounts for 12% of the total infections in all 75 districts in 24 hours.
This took the caseload to 56,656 since the outbreak. Of these, 89% (50,412) people have recovered, while about 10% (5,489) still have infection and 755 (1.3% ) have died so far. Health department data showed that about 30% of the patients are currently in hospital and remaining in home quarantine. Though the number of recoveries (458) continued to be more than fresh infections for the 16th consecutive day, health officers said that having 30% of its positive population in hospitals means that even though cases are declining, the severity of the virus is yet to come down. The number of serious patients is also high, resulting in a high death rate, they added.
Gomtinagar continued to report the maximum number of cases in the city with 38 patients in last 24 hours followed by Rae Bareli Road with 28 and Indiranagar 25, Chinhat 24, Alambagh and Talkatora 20, Aliganj 19, Cantonment 18, Aashiana 17, Madiaon 16, Jankipuram 13, Mahanagar 12, Chowk and Naka 11 each and Vikasnagar and Thakurganj 10 each.
