Q2 investment numbers puts TN as top destination in India : Palaniswami

Chennai, Oct 9 (UNI) Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on
Friday said he was glad to see the Q2 numbers on investment
which puts Tamil Nadu as one of the top investment destinations
in India, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Referring to Project Today's latest report on investments in July
to September quarters stating Tamil Nadu, which had topped in
attracting fresh investments in the first quarter, received highest
investments in the second quarter behind Chhattisgarh, he said
this validated the government's efforts to put the economy back
on track.
In a tweet, he said ''our persistent efforts to bring Tamil Nadu's
economy on track in the aftermath of the Covid crisis is bearing
results.''
''Glad to see Q2 numbers on investment, which puts TN as one
of the top investment destinations in India, validate our efforts'',
he said.
In its report, Project Today said Chhattisgarh's total investments
in the quarter was Rs 35,771 crore (114 projects) and Tamil Nadu
received 132 projects worth Rs 23,332 crore in the same period.
It said in all, 315 new projects worth Rs 35,195.68 crore were
announced in Q2, of which about 96 per cent came from private
promoters.
A solar cells and modules project of Vikram Solar in Tamil Nadu
worth Rs 5,423 crore was the largest private manufacturing
investment announced, it added.
