Haryana registers 1,250 new COVID-19 cases, 14 fatalities

Chandigarh, Oct 9 (UNI) With the detection of 1,250 fresh COVID-19 cases in Haryana on Thursday, the infection tally in the state surged to 1,39,932.

The death toll also mounted to 1,562 in the state after 14 more patients succumbed to the virus in last 24 hours.

According to the department's bulletin, the virus claimed three lives in Panipat district, two each in Gurugram, Hisar, Jhajjar and Yamunanagar and one life each in Ambala, Rohtak and Bhiwani districts today.

The bulletin stated that among the new cases 261 were reported from Gurugram district, 153 from Faridabad, 108 from Hisar, 89 from Sonipat, 75 each from Rohtak and Sirsa, 56 from Rewari, 50 from Panipat, 43 each from Ambala and Karnal, 41 from Panchkula, 38 from Jhajjar, 37 from Bhiwani, 35 from Palwal, 30 from Mahendergarh, 27 from Jind, 26 from Kurukshetra, 25 from Fatehabad, 21 from Yamunanagar, nine from Charkhi Dadri and eight new cases from Kaithal district.

Of the 1562 fatalities so far, 230 deaths have been reported from Faridabad district, 183 from Gurugram, 111 from Karnal, 102 from Ambala, 100 from Panchkula, 96 from Panipat, 95 from Kurukshetra, 88 from Yamunanagar, 84 from Hisar, 70 from Sirsa, 70 from Rohtak, 48 from Sonipat, 45 from Fatehabad, 42 from Jind, 41 from Kaithal, 40 from Bhiwani, 33 from Rewari, 30 from Jhajjar, 24 from Nuh, 19 from Palwal, 7 from Mahendergarh while four deaths have been reported from Charkhi Dadri district.

Gurugram is the worst-affected district with 23,036 confirmed cases, followed by Faridabad with 21,187 cases, Sonepat with 8,801, Ambala 8,416, Karnal 7,788, Panipat 7,627, Hisar 7,187, Panchkula 6,492, Rohtak 6,511, Rewari 6,225, Kurukshetra 5,987, Yamunanagar 4,569, Sirsa 4,236, Mahendergarh 3,797, Bhiwani 3,064, Palwal 2,852, Jhajjar 2,774, Kaithal 2,614, Fatehabad 2,531, Jind 2,347, Nuh 1,189 and Charkhi Dadri with 702 cases.

Apart from these, there are 21 US-returnee Haryana citizens who have been found COVID-19 positive, the bulletin added.
