KOLKATA: The Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation on Friday held its last meeting of its present board of councillors.
The tenure of the civic body’s present board will end on October 15 this month after which a board of administrators will be formed as per the rules and regulations till the civic body goes to polls to form its next board.
The Bidhannagar municipality was upgraded into a municipal corporation in 2015.
Krishna Chakraborty, who became the mayor of the civic body last year after Sabyasachi Dutta resigned from the post, said that the last one year was the best time in her political career so far. All the councillors were presented with mementoes on the occasion.
A total stock taking as to the development works that took place in the last few years was done and the civic body also reviewed as to what ongoing works were still left to be done, including developing street lighting, road repairs and overall beautification of Salt Lake and Rajarhat.
